Repressed family dysfunction cannot be contained in this Thanksgiving drama.

a good f)(*ed family pic reminded me of 'ordinary people".

An indie film trying too hard to be too indie? Perhaps but I found the performances to be compelling. It's nice to see Roy Scheider involved in something that doesn't involve the ocean or a large fish.

Quite possibly one of the most underrated Independent Films of all time! Playing out like the audience is the uninvited guest to a dysfunctional New England family's adult child Thanksgiving reunion, you are asked to simply peer into the family secrets and driving reasons for the relative unhappiness of the characters. Complicated enough to illustrate that the siblings still care for one another and their parents, the uneasiness of the lack of communication and the glimpsing loneliness of the cinematography and score combine to make for an emotionally compelling and haunting tale that even the most well adjusted person can relate to at some point. Scripted well, directed finely, and acted to perfection, The Myth of Fingerprints deserves a far better rating than many are willing to concede. My guess is that it hits too close to home for some.

With this film Noah Wyle gives a great performance, considering he is an amature to the big screen. Blythe Danner is still as lovely as ever, as are the rest of this astoundingly good looking family. Its Freundlich frist film and it was great effort. Worth the time to watch.

C' est la famille typiquement dysfonctionnel. Aucun des membres n' en fait trop. Julianne Moore est bien dans son personnage de frustrée qui se cherche et qui n' arrive pas a se trouver.

A little slow-paced and it never really goes anywhere, but kind of poignant at the same time.

A touching and quirky film about family, life and love.
