The Night House

- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsOne of my favorites, this movie is about grief and alot of the scares are in the details, and background. This movies brilliance can be found in dialogue above all else, the acting is phenomenal but the action is secondary. People with patience will adore this movie for it's storytelling and pace and people who don't desire that in their horror will not. It's that's simple.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsEveryone processes grief differently until the moment you find out disturbing information from the ghost of a recently deceased loved one. I wanted to tell her to purge all the grief and move on with her life. But then we wouldn't have a feature-length ghost story movie. Bonus points go to Rebecca Hall for this flick.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsInnovative and therefore much much better than most of what is recycled in most movies nowadays.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis movie could easily have not worked at all so kudos to the filmmakers for finding the compelling horror mystery that doesn't oversell the premise or the scares. It also doesn't hurt to have Rebecca Hall who gives a hell of a performance.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA very solid paranormal/ psychological horror film. Well acted, well paced and keeps you guessing. Thoroughly enjoyable, decent ending and overall a good premise. Well worth a watch
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsRebecca Hall's commanding performance as the grieving widow anchors "The Night House" with depth and emotion. The film spins a compelling plot, interweaving optic illusions to vividly depict the haunting ghostly presence, crafting an eerie atmosphere that seeps into your bones. It's an excellent thriller, boasting genuinely effective jump scares that keep you on edge. However, despite its strengths, the twists felt somewhat predictable, slightly dampening the suspense. The movie excels in delivering spine-tingling moments and maintaining a haunting ambiance throughout. But, unfortunately, the ending fails to tie up loose ends satisfactorily. While Hall's portrayal elevates the narrative, the conclusion doesn't quite match the intensity built up earlier, leaving some viewers feeling let down. "The Night House" is a rollercoaster of chills, but it falters in its landing, missing the mark for a truly memorable finale.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsYawn worthy 😴 Ain't worthy of the script paper ⚠️
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsSome parts of it felt slow, but it was always interesting, and Rebecca Hall was amazing, I did like the ending to.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsOne of the slowest movie I have seen lately. Very disappointed
