Some good "story telling quality" but besides that, not worth it!

I have a hard time believing even Peter Genoway's original play is any more artful than this sophomoric and pointless attempt at human connection. It seems as though the dialogue is lifted straight from it, and said dialogue is clumsy and overwrought. It comes off like a college student's undergraduate submission that the professor handed back and said "Find another profession." Mature, compelling stories require more than just intelligent characters. Natural interactions between people have to be polished numerous times to get the pacing and believability just right. Genoway didn't bother. I quit halfway through this film. Please leave the writing to the adults.

A simple yet amazingly effective movie. Beautifully shot. The atmosphere and the suspense is perfect.

The Oak Room certainly is a bit of a slow burn and you have to pay attention or you'll miss key clues that are important to the story. So put away your mobile phone and concentrate! Some may find it boring and going nowhere but stick with it and you may be satisfied with the ending (IF you were concentrating on the story and keeping track, that is…). Overall, a neat thriller with an interesting plot, a few twists and okay acting.

Really amazing movie. Love the thrill and suspense. A must-watch.

Sets up like something jaw-dropping is going to happen, but nothing does. It's just pointless stories within stories within a story competing with other pointless stories within stories of a story, started giving me a headache about halfway through.

    Slow-burn masterpiece.

The Oak Room is not a great bar movie but it does show, in vivid detail, how the art of storytelling can sometimes be found in its purest form just before last call.

The twist wasn't all that amazing. It wasn't that I could see it coming-- I couldn't-- it just wasn't all that impressive. I really enjoyed the format, though-- very few characters, heavy on the dialogue-- I want more of that. You can decrease the budget of a film while maintaining cerebral interest in the storyline. You end up with the same entertainment value as a CGI-heavy film with poor writing.

The guy driving that hitchhiker said "your whole life is laid out for you". Cult of killers getting their. Deep stuff
