Laure Calamy delivers a standout performance as Stéphane, a complex and flawed character who is both sympathetic and unsettling. Dominique Blanc is also wonderful in her role as Louise, Stéphane's evil stepmother, and Jacques Weber is convincing as Serge, the patriarch of the family. The supporting cast is equally impressive, with each actor bringing their own unique flair to their respective roles. The direction by Marnier is solid, with extensive use of split-screen that conveys the duplicitous and conniving happenings of the story. The film's exceptional cast, solid direction, and unique style make it a standout entry in the thriller genre. While it may not be for everyone, those who appreciate a slow-burning, character-driven thriller will find much to enjoy here.

Phenomenal performances, stellar cast and a compelling story. I had to deduct half a star because the film was let down ever so slightly by an abrupt, unexpected and undeveloped ending that unfolds - no, precipitates - within the last few minutes, which leaves the viewer slightly unsatisfied, and doesn't do justice to the rest of the film. Highly recommended nonetheless!!

a interesting story with many surprises. you will not like any of the character but it still a enjoyable movie. you get to choose who is the most evil of them all and all are good candidates.

Completely In French With Subtitles, Except One Song. ----------------------------------------- Directed and written by Sébastien Marnier, this film is a long drawn-out drama with a twisted family and especially a twisted sibling (unknown to everyone in the story) played by Laure Calamy. The film does have some interesting performances like Jacques Weber as the French family Patriarch and his current wife played by Dominique Blanc are wonderful to watch when they're on screen. -------------------------------------- The story is really about a devious misdirection of two Lesbian lovers who one of the partners takes the identity of the other to gain favor (and money) in the family that is very wealthy. The whole movie is in spoken French and with Englis subtitles. ------------------------------------ From the beginning it takes a while to get to the main point of the story regarding the Lesbian couple where one is in prison and the other a con artist. The family itself is high strung, rich and self absorbed, but by the end are all in it together. ------------------------------ Slightly predictable. Wait for streaming.

By far the best indie movie of the year. Outstanding performances and a great story. Lots of fun to watch.

An original story as far as I know. Nice twist I didn't see coming. 4 for a foreign film although the acting wouldn't warrant a 4 in an English speaking film.

Despite its English title, this film is shown here in its original French language with English subtitles. A few things about it are as expected: a bit more casual nudity and a lot less blood than a typical Hollywood production, none of the actors were known to me but all were quite capable, and reading subtitles is not as annoying as it seems. Other things were unexpected: in spite of its title this not being a horror film but a thriller, and of course the numerous twists and turns the story took. All in all a refreshing international work.

An underrated movie but it deliver beyond expectations. Suspenseful!
