The Pez Outlaw is odd: odd characters, odd story, and the oddest of sweet confections. It's part character study, part corporate-espionage thriller, and part exposition of a very specific flavor of candy-coated nerds.

It’s a hoot with a bit of heart, and if you can accept that the main character’s actions ultimately hurt nobody — with the possible exception of a few Pez executives — its fizzy pleasures and compact running time are easy to enjoy.

One of those documentaries where the central character could easily have overpowered the narrative, but thankfully the co-directors matched his oddball energy with equally unique filmic technique

Candid and every bit as sweet as a sleeve of twelve cherry-flavored Pez, Kathy represents a nurturing and encouraging spirit able to keep her partner grounded when he would otherwise zoom off into the stratosphere.

By the end, you might also think this is one of the most touching love stories you have seen in years as well. The Pez Outlaw might just be the best thing on Netflix you will see all week.

If you are looking for a more light-hearted documentary than the usual fare on streaming platforms, then this is an engaging, humorous, and surprisingly emotional account.
