Very funny film with touching storyline. You're cheering for the main character.

Simply adorable - a delightful feel good movie. It's certainly not a big blockbuster. It's just a small movie with a small but uplifting story. Sometimes we just need one of these feel good movies every once awhile. Mark Rylance and Sally Hawkins can do no wrong whatever movie either of them is in. They are great together but here it's Mark Rylance's movie. A charming movie for all.

The most beautiful part about this movie is the fact that it is based on a true story. Mark Rylance once again proves to be one of the best character actors alive and the casting couldn't have chosen a better actor to represent this incredible person "Maurice" in real life. And casting the amazing Sally Hawkins as his wife makes this movie really something to talk about. It's the story of a through and through positive guy who simply wouldn't take No for an answer and simply defies the obstacles life could throw him in a relaxed and humorous way. Charming, intriguing and surprising, especially because all this actually happened a few decades ago. The movie gives one hope to face life with all its ugly facades, even when "Shit hits the fan", and making us believe in ourselves. The story really touches one's heart. 7 1/2 of 10 points.

A basic film that is powered by a story that is almost impossible to believe. In the 70s Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance) decided to enter the Open Championship without ever having played a round of golf. Somehow he ends up at qualifying and shoots what one would expect anyone who has never played a round before. Rylance is brilliant, and is perfectly cast. The film drags and needed to be tighter. The final act pulls at your heartstrings and if you're engaged tears will likely flow. Final Score: 7.3/10

Lovely film with a broad range. From societal/class issues to interpersonal/familial relations. At moments is sad, happy, and heartwarming. Not just for golfers!

A true story based on the hardships of life and reality, exposing the discriminations of golf. An emotional film that talks of family and its importance. Follow your dreams to disappointment or follow the crowd and dream on.

Beautiful movie. Inspiring. Heartwarming. I can’t believe how much of it is true! Loved it.

A small biopic about a British amateur golfer. Also a family tale. The best thing about the film is the Rylance's performance.
