Quiet film. If you are emphatic, you will cry!!!!

Really good movie , highly recommend!

The movie deliberately avoids sentimentality, a trap it could have easily fallen into, through its measured tone and ambiguous ending.

This movie really takes you through a roller coaster of emotions. It depicts feelings very well through its camera work. You can really feel the contrasting warmth and coldness of different scenes. It is a tad bit artsy and simple but I find it to be simple in a refreshing way.

I was waiting for this to come to US streaming. Found it on Hulu. Beautiful and tragic in all that is said and even more in what is unsaid. I would love for there to be a follow up movie. Perhaps Cait gets to go back for a time, the following summer; or her mother suspects that Cait needs to leave her home to be safe and sends her back to her cousins; or when she becomes an adult at 18 she leaves her family to return to those who showed her true love and nurturing. A++++

Beautifully rendered examination of how love develops between a child and the adults who care for her - not necessarily her parents. Great storytelling, great acting, and great filmmaking, focusing in on the small and tender details that sustain us in our everyday worlds.

It's a beautiful story of characters finding familial warmth and love despite damages of neglect and grief.

Simple tale, beautifully told that does not overstay its welcome. Warmly recommended.

Surprisingly good, but I especially liked the good family value themes.

It's a rather sad storyline of a young girl who's unwanted and dropped off to stay with extended family. It depicts the Irish as very cold and shut off and unable to show affection. I felt like the ending could have been so much better. The acting was good, but the movie was very slow paced which is probably why I didn't care for it..
