The Second Time Around

The greatest 01 hour: and 47 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although it was a bit slow moving, as seniors who have been married only 15 years, it was very enjoyable. There's so little out there that strikes a cord with us. Their mutual love of music and struggles with her breaking her hip, her adult daughter dismissing her to a nursing home for rehab, or taking much of an interest in her life as she was busy, yet her granddaughter found the time to delight her.

I love watching love stories featuring older adults. And this one was very sweet!

What was a really good and original idea turns into an off the rails finish with some giant plot holes. Husband and wife were in complete agreement. It's the kind of movie you like until you don't. A love story at an assisted living facility, 'Second Time Around', is a well-acted tale with either relatively unknown players or ones that have been out of the spotlight for a very long time. That's probably one of the reasons few people have seen what is a really good film for the first two acts. Despite the plot gaps in the movie's final 20 minutes, I was still ready to really like this until not only did the movie end several times (watch through the final credits), but for the second ending the viewer is supposed to suspend the reality they have been given for 90 minutes and forget everything they've watched for an unexplained musical sequence. All of the negatives, We're giving this a tepid recommendation! Wife & Husband: 6.5/10

An excellent film. The opera Score fits the film like a glove. Linda Thorson does an outstanding portrayal of a woman sometimes vulnerable,then confident. Great story. Run don't walk to this film . She says " I'll only be here two weeks" Isaac says " that is what they all say!"

This movie is excellent. The pace of the movie and the close-ups of all of the characters and scenery left me hanging on to every word. I found it engrossing. The acting by Thorson and Margolin was outstanding. The movie has the perfect blend of comedy, and tender emotional moments. It has a great story line and is a breath of fresh air from todays movies that contain so much violence. It is a must see.

I found The Second Time Around very interesting, entertaining and humorous. It was sort of reminiscent of Grumpy Old Men but without the grumpy. Great characters! Very well written and all-around very well done. I think anyone in their 40s and up would see their parents, friends, mates and acquaintances in the characters. Definitely a 10 for anyone over 40!
