With starkly beautiful realistic animation that tells a no-holds-barred adventure story, "The Summit of the Gods" triumphs with its spirit of human will.

This is the best movie I've ever seen about obsession and determination. Once you reach the highest peak, there is no satisfaction. Only the search for the next challenge to give life meaning.

Everything from the animation, soundtrack, and plot of this movie resonated with me. After watching "The Summit of the Gods," I find myself wanting to climb a mountain or visit the Himalayas.

It's a chillingly tense film. The story isn't the greatest and its slow to start off, but its simplicity and subtlety add up to a punch at the end. The animation and artwork is, I'm not kidding, incredible every single frame. The imagery paired with the music and story makes this film more of an experience than just standard entertainment. Recommended.

Wow… what a fucking movie. From beginning to end, it had me glued to my tv screen. This was one of the most beautifully animated films I've ever seen. The scenes showing the mountains were breathtaking. The soundtrack was so good and it really elevated most of the scenes. The story of Habu is so emotional and they do a great job at showing the highs and lows of his time while climbing. The mountain climbing scenes were so intense and had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. This was also helped by the great soundtrack. This is easily one of my favorite animated films I've ever seen.

An absolutely beautiful and moving film of people pushing themselves beyond their limits. The story is at first framed as a mystery, which is a clever way of drawing you in without overwhelming you with the details of mountaineering and still giving enough context for the story to build. The background and effects in the mountains are spectacular and the character animation is restrained but impressively forceful; animation allows a level of intimacy and graphic clarity that is hardly ever seen in live-action climbing films.

A quality film about men seeking the limit as mountaineers and answering questions about the nature of humanity and for some what it means to live. Great animation.

The animation goes along perfectly with the atmosphere and the message of the film. Good effort.

The Summit of the Gods is—to say the very least—beautiful. A beautiful story and extremely beautiful animated shots. The animation style reminds me a lot of Grave of the Fireflies with the minimalistic facial detail but the beautiful scenery. We have two main characters who are so interesting. They're in two different parts in their life, and while that is a contrast, they're also extremely similar. They both want something so bad and it's evident that they will stop at nothing to achieve both of their goals. I cannot say it enough, this film is stunning. The way it looks and the attention to detail is so perfectly done. Calming sunsets, terrifying cliffs, rainy cities, breathtaking mountain ranges… everything is beautiful. One of if not the most eye catching animated flicks I've ever seen. I really enjoyed watching this because it was so easy on the eyes. It's a truly upsetting film. It follows a sad story and at times will tear your heart apart. The writing is great, it really brings you into the story and doesn't let you go until even after the credits roll. The score is also phenomenal and I got goosebumps every single time the music would intensify. The storyline is extremely compelling and I can only imagine watching this on the big screen. This review is not what I wanted it to be… I mean, there's no way to review this film in my opinion. The Summit of the Gods is honestly an experience more than it is a movie. You just have to experience it for yourself because it's truly a masterpiece, I cannot wait to rewatch. Please please please give this one a shot you will not be disappointed!
