I can’t believe there are so many poor reviews. This is a reasonably good movie. Particularly when contrasted against the majority of rubbish films on offer during the same period.

I had watched the movie because I saw the preview scene with Davis' and Bullocks' characters arguing. The acting was amazing and I love those actors so I was sure the movie would be great. The acting was indeed wonderful, but the writing and plot made me so angry that I wanted to throw the coffee table. In my opinion there's a major part of the plot I find is illogical, and there are moments where Ruth does things that are out of character from how they built her up in the 1st half of the movie.

An absolutely great movie. It was nothing like the trailer made it out to be, and that made it even better. Sandra Bullock should have gotten an Oscar for her performance.

Made no sense. Sister goes to prison for 20 years taking the rap for her little sister who has no memory of what she did. If she really cared about her sister she'd leave her alone. This is a Sandra Bulluck special. Bulluck surrounded by capable actors but no one to share top billing, camera on her all the time and a plot with all kinds of things that made no sense designed to get to the hug at the end. So now what her little sister remembers everything and become a wreck of a person racked with guilt? Guess who produced it....Sandra Bulluck. Critics got it right. Audience rating it based on a completely contrived sill ending.

Very well performance from all the actors. Brother cheating on his wife was not needed a scene. Twist reveal could have been in the end. This film made me cry!

While The Unforgivable may not be groundbreaking, it proves to be a good film propelled by fantastic performances. The overarching message of the film works, even with all the filler subplots. If a few characters were trimmed from the narrative, particularly the cop's sons, this film would have had a much tighter and more effective story. Despite that, I still had a great time with it. I think the twists worked and the flashback scenes were woven into the narrative really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the final act, but it did not hurt my overall enjoyment of the film. What really helped aid the movie were the incredible performances from an all-star cast. Sandra Bullock delivers a heartbreaking, emotional performance that had me tearing up on more than one occasion. Her chemistry with Jon Bernthal is fantastic, and that relationship was a real highlight of the film for me. Vincent D'Onofrio was excellent, although his goatee was incredibly thick! Viola Davis was criminally underused, but her scenes were incredibly effective. My favorite scene from the whole movie had her in it. The "antagonists" of the movie were bad. The acting was average at best; I really think this movie could have worked without them being included. Overall, The Unforgivable is a solid entry into Netflix's original film catalog and one that I would highly recommend. Score: 63% Verdict: Decent

Heart felt and did make me cry unlike most and I mean MOST movies. I'm not one to do reviews so know I mean when I say this movie is under valued. It's acting for some could have been better but the story line and plot twist are worth the watch! I will definitely be recommending this and showing others. LOVED IT !!
