It was a nice pass time.

They had a cast that could have made it a decent film, but lackluster directing and poor acting made this inadequate mess almost unwatchable.

Friday, June 13, 2014 (1994) The Walking Dead WAR Not to be confused with the TV series that started in 2010 which involves zombies, this is strictly a 'war' movie made in 1994 from HBO which focuses on 5 marines being stranded somewhere along the Vietnam jungle, using the saving mission operation as a backdrop to tell viewers how these specific 5 became marines in the first place. It includes a preacher, a thug, and a young man who was living in his mom's basement. Not one war story had anything to do with pride. I mean, what are the odds that all 5 of them had an "ulterior motive" for joining. The other thing I had a problem with, is that there are times, the fighting war scenes didn't look like how actual war scenes was supposed to look like since it looked fake and stagey, and despite the good ending, it doesn't offer anything new viewers can't come up with themselves. 2 out of 4 stars

This is one of the most idiotic war movies ever created. Marines on a Vietnam POW rescue mission ditty bopping through the jungle, smoking weed, and arguing the whole time. The writer and director should both be shot.

This 1995 movie is a classic! This movie give you an insight on how African(black) people went through during the Vietnam War. What was interesting how the four marines told their sobering story on why they joined the marine core. Allen Payne, Eddie Griffin, Joe Morton and Vonte Sweet did an excellent job!

For a Vietnam War film this wasn't all that great but what was actually good about this film was the story and looking back at how life was prior to being in the war. But if you're looking for an actual war film then look somewhere else.

The idea was good - illustrating how African-Americans fought and died for their country in Vietnam, while being treated as second class citizens at home, but that was it. Actual plot is unfocussed, direction is cavalier, action sequences are often unrealistic, and acting is over-the-top.
