The Watchers

Very strange as always. M. Night Shyamalan tend to make movies where people have very different opinions. Kinda like love it or hate it. Personally I love it. Good mix of fantasy and thriller. I have yet to watch a movie by him that I don't enjoy. They're always my cup of tea and The Watchers is no exception.

This certainly had the potential to be a great movie, but it lost it somewhere along the way. I thought the acting was good. The plot had some good merit to it, but there was something missing in the middle.

The concept is intriguing, and the production is definitely admirable, but an unlikeable protagonist, a painfully predictable plot, horrendous dialogue, and a laughably terrible last third really drag "The Watchers" down. There's also an unnecessary amount of lore and several plot points are just forgotten for no reason. It's not the worst movie of the year, but it's still far from good.

Atmosphere. Tension. Discovery. This is an adventure into a lovely Irish forest, where the fantasy is revealed to us perfectly gradually. Much of the movie is psychological analyzing the characters’ dilemma with several breaks from danger to lighten the experience. Filled with some beautiful cinematography and grand scenes you should see this story in a dark room. I would watch it again in a couple years if I was with a friend who I think would enjoy the tone and pacing of the film.

The Watchers is a skillful blend of Irish folklore and modern horror. The atmosphere is both claustrophobic and paranoic. I see a lot of bad reviews here, but I enjoyed it.

horrible acting, horrible script, thought there was a plot twist but i actually ended up laughing at how bad the movie was for the rest of it.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE EVERYONE WHO DISLIKES THIS MOVIE IS WRONG AND SMALL MINDED WITH NO BRAINS IF YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THE DEEPER MEANING AND IT WAS DIFFERENT THEN ALL THE HORROR MOVIES WITH THE SAME STORYLINE OVER AND OVER AGAIN I WANT TO SEE MORE MOVIES LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!

Watched it on a flight over to Europe.... occupied my time that I wish I had back.
