For the most part the movie treats bondage and discipline as ordinary, fulfilling pastimes for consenting adults.

"Kinky" and "family comedy" are words that you might not expect to see together, but director Jon Sherman's film is oddly charming and somehow works -- at least for adults.

They/Them/Us takes the tried-and-true tumult of family dynamics and blends it with a sex romp to create an unexpected take on modern parenting.

Director and co-writer Jon Sherman crams an entire TV season's worth of plotting into a sporadically funny but tonally frustrating feature film.

The film has so much heart, way more than a film with this premise should.
