It really is a very important film.

If anyone needs convincing at this late date that gender inequality both in front of and behind the camera is the norm in Hollywood, "This Changes Everything" will get the job done.

Once it finally begins to focus on the mission... "This Changes Everything" not only becomes engrossing but reveals itself as a crucial cri de coeur.

It's not up to one documentary to address everything at once, but if we're talking about community-building, that means we all have to be invited to the conversation or at least mentioned in it.

Flawed as it is, This Changes Everything matters -- and maybe it'll even make a difference.

In its technical simplicity, This Changes Everything raises the problem of gender injustice rooted in the past and all-embracing the contemporary age.

The presentation of the information is basic, talking heads, title cards and charts, but the movie's retelling of the legal fights for equality coupled with the women's personal stories make for a fascinating and compelling lesson.

Very damning, and kind of sad...
