Heart touching but still with a twist of humor a must see.

The story of Emmett Till and his death is huge. The movie, in my opinion, left out too much of the actual tragedy and didn't give us a connection with Emmett before he died. Deadwyler is truly talented, but her sorrow couldn't carry all 2 hrs of the film.

Its dignified and careful, but maybe a little too careful.

It was a well shot movie, the lead was excellent. The movie was a bit drawn out, based on fact it didn't add much to what was already known.

It is an emotional film, clearly buoyed by the mesmerizing performance of Danielle Deadwyler as Mamie Till-Mobley, the mother of the murdered Emmett Till. How Deadwyler was passed for a nomination is deplorable. It's solidly made, but pretty standard. This is the definition of a good movie. It is never boring and the cinematography is really fascinating. There are moments that Chinonye Chukwu may hold the shot too long, but she is trying to make the audience uncomfortable. In other instances, she dwells on reactions. They are fascinating decisions, but it makes it a really tough watch, especially for mothers. Final Score: 7.4/10

A brilliant film that recounts MamieTill-Bryant's journey through the anguish and heroic determination to see justice for her murdered son. Accurate historically and quite an emotional journal, but that is to be expected. This case should never be forgotten
