Trigger Point

[A] cinematic bag of pain.

The idea of getting to see a great actor like Pepper, who has impressed for so long as a character actor in supporting parts, getting his own franchise with an action star role is certainly exciting.

A typically underused Barry Pepper finally gets his moment to shine, it's just a shame that the quality of the script doesn't match that of his performance

Weighed down by tough guy banalities, there is very little in Trigger Point that we haven't seen before and done better.

A man in hiding and then found out. Violence ensues. Same old same old plot but with Barry Pepper and a few added twists it works.

"Pepper is solid as the lead actor.

...ineffective and underwhelming...

Trigger Point is solidly made and contains just enough action to be diverting, even though its abrupt ending makes it feel woefully incomplete.

If all you need from a film intent on leaving its biggest questions to be answered in a sequel that will never come is the thump sound from gun silencers then Trigger Point is your movie.

While it feels overly familiar as it travels on well worn roads, the execution is done well enough to make for an easy, non-demanding watch.
