Villains

Villains has enough of its own offbeat energy not to come off as just another collection of young filmmakers' influences.

A fairly funny black comedy.

"Villains" is a fun movie, but it's not a great one. Their next one might be.

I enjoyed the humor derived from the unfailing ineptitude of all four villains, and as they met their fates, one by one, I was sort of sorry to see them go.

Violence breaks out, mind games are played, and it's all so adorably eccentric that you don't ever want it to stop.

Remains delightfully fresh throughout despite being nothing all that new.

The themes and overall approach to the story is better executed here by Berk and Olsen, and will make for a highly enjoyable discovery for audiences later this year...

Villains keeps the viewer invested in the moment-to-moment tension, but it never quite delivers the laughs or pushes our limits beyond acceptable norms.

Each key player manages to deliver a zany and humourous performance and the script is chock full of quotable lines of dialogue. This has all the hallmarks of becoming a well-loved cult classic.

Villains is a wicked good time with a few creepy twists and turns throughout.
