An exceptionally entertaining movie. Stellar performances. Brilliant direction, as you would expect from Shyam Benegal. One of the best movies I’ve ever watched.

Excellent movie on social issues presented in a hilarious way. If you have enjoyed 'Peepli Live', you would definitely like this one too

Well done Abba - is a perfect tounge-in-a-cheek for some of the rural-urban Indian government systems which are corrupt and rotten from all sides. It brings an attention towards some of the the serious concerns of poor people of India - in a sarcastic manner. It reminds me of Aamirkhan production's Peepli-Live. Boman Irani is once again at its best. Minissha Lamba - has done a great acting, a perfect deliverance of her angry but cute dialogues throughout the movie.. Overall a good watch..

Very enjoyable! I appreciate the small town reality so much, and the light hearted depiction of corruption and blue tape. Good stuff.

A simple, sweet story based in the rural India highlighting the corruption plaguing the society at grass-root levels ... !! Highlights: top-notch acting by Boman Irani (who I feel is at time under-rated by Bollywood) and the amazing direction of Shyam Benegal who tells a difficult story with light-hearted ease ... !! Thumbs up ... !

One of the simplest and greatest movies I have ever seen, showing the hidden elephant of corruption in a metaphorical way. I'm pretty sure I have seen this as a play as a kid.
