When I Consume You

It's a startling depiction of bonding that will chill you and move you in equal measures.

When I Consume You clocks in at a brisk 92 minutes, but you feel the latter end lag a bit more than you should. Perry Blackshear does manage to stick the landing, though, and gives us a bittersweet yet satisfying ending. There’s a lot to enjoy here...

When I Consume You is an effectively atmospheric horror movie with a story that unfolds in layers. This brooding film, which is about a brother and a sister plagued by a mysterious stalker, is not what it might first appear to be to some viewers.

Just know when you see the name Perry Blackshear, you’re in good hands.

Ultimately, When I Consume You offers little that’s new and exciting for genre fans, firmly planting itself as an inoffensive-yet-average tale that will struggle to hold viewers’ attention spans.

With an intimate style and a core cast of actors that feel like family, When I Consume You is a challenging but touching examination of the demons that haunt us all. 



It's masterful and thought-provoking, and an incredible example of what can be done with little.

As with Blackshear’s other films, your mileage will vary depending on how patient you are with the deathly slow pacing and little to no explanation of what’s really going on.

When I Consume You is a bold and unflinching depiction of addiction and the affects that it has on family. It just could have been a little more subtle in its execution.
