Who Invited Charlie? feels like the pandemic version of Uncle Buck and that’s not a bad thing.

Following a well-worn formula from start to finish, this comedy nonetheless gains traction not only from embracing COVID-era craziness, but also with its harmonious, lovable performances.

This amiable but listless comedy alternates between awkward humor and awkward sentiment.

Pally wastes no time in reminding us that he’s one of the wittiest and most dynamic comedic actors working, gifting us with a performance that’s both playful and shrouded in a shadow of sadness.

Something feels incomplete or slightly off in Who Invited Charlie?, an otherwise good-natured comedy...

It has to find that balance between being overly broad and having something to say about how people are forced to come together due to a pandemic, but I was impressed with what director Xavier Manrique pulled out here.

There are laughs to be had in the picture, which tries to keep everything approachable and understood, and there’s also a decent handle on the ways of relationships.
