Anand Desai-Barochia

Anand Desai-Barochia was a British-Indian actor who broke out in the summer of 2018 when he began appearing on The CW fantasy series "The Outpost" (The CW, 2018- ). Desai-Barochia grew up in England, and spent his formative years in Nunthorpe, which is a suburb of Middlesbrough School. His passion for performing began when he was still a young boy, and by his early teens Desai-Barochia began taking acting classes at MIddlesbrough's Spotlight Performing Arts School. He quickly fell in love with acting and after graduating from Spotlight, Desai-Barochia moved to London to attend the prestigious Italia Conti Stage School. While attending Italia Conti, Desai-Barcohia was able to hone his craft night after night by performing in front of a live audience. While attending school in London, Desai-Barochia began auditioning for film and TV roles. He had some success early on by landing a small part on the British TV series "Skins" (E4, 2007-13), as well as a supporting role in the 2011 film "Holiday Heist," but soon the number of roles being offered to him to be limiting. It was at that time that Desai-Barochia decided he needed to give his fledgling acting career a shot of adrenaline and promptly relocated to Hollywood. He started taking classes at the world famous Lee Strasberg Institute and before long was landing roles in films like "Caveman" (2013) and "The Tiger Hunter" (2016). He also nabbed a small supporting role on the British soap opera "Emmerdale" (ITV, 1972- ), which only further heightened his acting profile. Then in 2018 Desai-Barochia nabbed his breakout role on The CW fantasy series "The Outpost." The series, which premiered on the network in the summer of 2018, was about a young woman (played by Jessica Green) who learned she had superpowers. Desai-Barochia played Janzo on the series.
