Josh Brener

Josh Brener's affably geeky persona led the film and television actor to a certain type of comic role. After playing the awkward roommate Zack in the 1980s Indiana-set college comedy "Glory Daze" (TBS 2010-11), he took a larger role as Marc Maron's eager to please aspiring-comedian personal assistant on "Maron" (IFC 2013-16) and as unambitious programmer Nelson "Big Head" Bighetti in Mike Judge's internet start-up comedy "Silicon Valley" (HBO 2014-). His film debut came with another project which was pitched firmly at California's development community, the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson-starring comedy "The Internship" (2013). Born in Houston, TX, Brener studied at Harvard University, his second choice after Yale. While there, he built his theatre experience with a spell as the president of the esteemed Hasty Pudding Theatricals company; he also worked in the improvisational On Thin Ice (OTI), as well as the Sunken Gardens Children's Theater company. After making his TV debut in "Glory Daze," he had a small recurring role as Dale, an employee at Stuart's comic book shop on "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS 2007- ).
