Lilly Singh
Lilly Singh was born on Sept. 26, 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada to Sikh parents from Punjab, India. Shortly after graduating from college at the Toronto, Canada-based York University, where she studied psychology, Singh launched her own YouTube channel, "IISuperwomanII," as a platform for her comedy. Singh's channel gained popularity thanks to videos about youth culture and a series parodying her parents' reactions thereto. In 2013, she kicked off her music career, performing in Punjabi songs like "Hipshaker" and "Mauj Ki Malharein." She began collaborating with other creators for web series like "The Tube's Hautest" (YouTube 2014-15) and "Lana Steele: Makeup Spy" (YouTube 2015-), and shortly afterward began her first live tour of comedy performances. She then accruing big screen roles like in the animated film "Ice Age: Collision Course" (2016) and the comedy film "Bad Moms" (2016). In 2018, she performed in the music video for Maroon 5 and Cardi B's "Girl Like You," and that same year played a role in the film adaptation of "Fahrenheit 451" (HBO 2018) opposite Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon. In 2019, NBC ordered a new late night talk show hosted by Singh to be titled "A Little Late with Lilly Singh" (NBC 2019-).
