Monica Raymund

Monica Raymund was an American actress best known for her starring roles as strong women in "Lie To Me" (Fox 2009-2011) and "Chicago Fire" (NBC 2012-). Raymund was born on July 26, 1986 in St. Petersburg, Florida to a Jewish father and Dominican mother. She participated in high school theater, going on to attend Juilliard to study acting. While in school, she appeared in many Juilliard theatrical performances, including "Animal Farm" and "Cymbeline." After graduating in 2008, she quickly landed small TV roles, her first an appearance in an episode of "Law And Order: SVU" (NBC 1999-). In 2009, she landed a starring role in "Lie To Me" as Ria Torres, a talented but volatile lie-detecting investigator. In another legal role, she played an attorney in the third season of the critically acclaimed drama "The Good Wife" (CBS 2009-). Her best known role was as Gabriela Dawson, a paramedic with a big heart who often lands herself in trouble on "Chicago Fire" and its spin-off "Chicago P.D." (NBC 2014-).
