Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson was a Canadian-American model, actress and animal rights activist who was best known for her roles on the TV shows "Home Improvement" (ABC, 1991-99), "Baywatch" (NBC/Syndication, 1989-2001), and "V.I.P." (Syndication, 1998-2002). Born and raised in British Columbia, Anderson skyrocketed to fame in her early 20s when she was discovered wearing a Labatt's Beer tee-shirt on the jumbotron of a Canadian sporting event. Struck by the young Anderson's beauty, executives at Labatt's hired Anderson as a spokesmodel. Shortly after Anderson launched her career as a beer spokesmodel, Hugh Hefner of Playboy magazine came calling. Anderson subsequently appeared on the cover of Playboy's 1989 issue-her first of many cover appearances for the magazine (she would later hold the record for most Playboy cover appearances of all time). In 1990 Anderson moved to Los Angeles to start an acting career. She first broke out in 1991 when she was cast as Lisa "The Tool Time Girl" on the Tim Allen sitcom "Home Improvement." Anderson's next big role came when she was cast as the buxom lifeguard C.J. Parker on the beach drama series "Baywatch." Anderson played Parker for five seasons on the show, from 1992 to 1997, making her one of the longest serving cast members on the hit series. By the mid-90s and early 2000s Anderson began appearing in films. Some of her more notable film appearances from this period, include "Barb Wire" (1996), "Scooby-Doo" (2002) and "Scary Movie 3" (2003). Anderson continued working steadily throughout the 2000s and 2010s. In 2017 she reprised her role as C.J. Parker in the film version of "Baywatch" (2017). A life-long animal rights activist, Anderson was a strong supporter of PETA and even appeared nude in the organization's 2003 advertising campaign "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur." In 2018, Anderson appeared as a contestant on the French reality competition "Danse avec le Stars" (TF1, 2011- ), becoming the seventh contestant eliminated. Anderson made international headlines in April 2019 when she wrote several tweets in support of Julian Assange, who had recently been ejected from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and arrested. Anderson visited the WikiLeaks Founder several times during his stay in the Embassy and had referred to him as a "hero" repeatedly in interviews and on social media. That same year, she appeared in two episodes of the rebooted reality soap "The Hills: New Beginnings" (MTV, 2019- ). On January 20, 2020, Anderson married producer Jon Peters in a private ceremony, but 12 days later, the couple announced that they had separated.
