Ramin Bahrani
Internationally acclaimed right out of the gate for his thoughtful filmmaking debut "Man Push Cart" (2005), Ramin Bahrani went on to earn festival prizes and numerous award nominations for his follow-up, "Chop Shop" (2007). His third award-winning work, "Goodbye Solo" (2008), further delivered on the young talent's commitment to addressing the realities of man's place in a modern, globalized world. With his neo-realist influence and skill for creating intimate, compassionate portraits using novice actors, Iranian-American Bahrani rapidly rose to the forefront of a new wave of young filmmakers whose work reflected multi-ethnic backgrounds and a contemporary, global point of view.
